Water Temp

Postby myate » Tue Apr 08, 2008 2:01 pm

Anybody been out in the water last weekend around north-west of Ireland or that area? I haven't been able to get out for about 3 weeks, but going this evening...just wondering is the temperature of the water starting to get slightly warmer...enough to lose the hood/gloves basically.

Its been hovering between 8-9C this last week. and its going flat tonight VERY fast. doubt there will be anything left once the tide turns.
Never use a hood but I'm prob going to drop the gloves at the end of april.

I've ditched the gloves...still chilly but ok without them. Kept the hood, as it doesn't affect surfing anyway like the gloves do. Ditched the 5/4 suit & back to the 3/2 with thermal rashie. Not a bit cold in it and easier to paddle again. Boots still on too. Now could do with some decent swell!

Still only 6 degrees over here on the east coast we need some sun. Warmed up a lot quicker last year due to that mini heat wave we had at the start of last year.

Damn, and I thought the water is cold when it is like 13C, but since I only own a f$%ked 3/2 it is pretty cold.
