Surfing Wetsuit

Postby DoorM4n » Wed Apr 09, 2008 11:16 pm

Hey guys,
The answer to my question differs between surfers, but at what temperatures of the water do you suppose you would wear a wetsuit?

:surfing: Loving the icons, by the way.

hmm. always?

Here the water doesnt get above 20, usualy 18-20 in summer. But the sun is way to harsh for me to be bothered with boardshorts anyhow.

If the water temp is 65 and sunny n hot i will wear a wetsuit top and boardies. If it hits the 70 mark i got in with just boardies. Anything under 65 im in my 3/2mm. It never drops below 55 here so i only ever wear a 3/2mm but usually with a thermo rash guard if its cold.

Its not just water temp though. The water can be 70+ but if theres a cold gloomy day with a wind blowing you can bet im out in a suit

Um.... what do all these fahrenheit temperatures mean...?

Below 10C - 5mm suit, boots, gloves.
10C-17C - 3mm suit.
18C-20C - 2mm shortie.
Above 20C - boardshorts, as long as the air temp isnt chilly.
