Shredded BIC!!

Postby little waves » Sun Oct 10, 2004 1:51 am

Now here is a story to go down in history - never thought it was possible. unfortunately I didn't get to see this first hand with my own eyes, but here goes - picture a 10 ft BIC heading straight at you, you nose dive your board and come away with no scratch what-so-ever on your board -the "indestructable" BIC on the other hand, not so lucky. I saw this board and couldn't believe what I was seeing, the entire bottom, well halfway from the nose to mid-board just peeled down like an orange peel. I don't have a picture of it, but man, an amazing site. luckily no one was injured in this. only the board. so here is a 10ft bic, with this big flap of plastic just sitting there. the plastic so strong it souldnt even be pulled off. nuts.

wow. thats something you dont see evryday. ive dropped my bic on its rail onto pointy rocks before and its come out unscratched! my dads board had some damage on the side where the two bits were coming apart but it stuck together. that is soo cool that you got to see that. maybe theyre not so ndestructible as we think.

yeah, same company that makes the pens (the same plastic too i think). not my board though, a friend of mine's. he has a shop, deals with the company etc. he'll work something out.

i reckon the makers of the BIC surf board were just playing around in there lab with a bunsen burner melting pens and the melted plastic driped into a surf board shape.. well thats my answer to it...........
