Lombok Honeymoon Surfing

Postby Paulw » Thu Mar 20, 2008 12:58 pm

Finally booked honeymoon. Staying in Lombok. Compromise is half the time based in Kuta, surf time, and half based up on ther North East, chill time. Found quite a bit of info on Lombok but more welcome.
Arrive June, taking with me a 6'2" rertro fish. Could well be wrong board type but I'm not looking for spitting barrels over 6 inches of water.

Any info on accessing waves, getting around, safety of leaving woman on the beach alone all welcome.

Am considering taking 6'3" or 6'6" thruster instead. But love the fish :? Advise would be appreciated. Can't take two boards as Singapore Airlines and Silk Air charge about £42 per extra kilo over 20 kilos. Very expensive.

Based in Novotel Lombok to start trip.

I would recomend that you take your 6'3" thruster. I am thinking you are going to need the nose rocker on the waves over there.

Yeah Paul, Kuta is in Bali. Lombok is another island by itself. And Novotel is a good choice for honeymoon :D

Your right Kuta is in Bali but there is also a Kuta in South Lombok. Check out a map on the internet. Kuta in Lombok ain't got the crowds and is generally a right hander. In fact theres loads of rights in Lombok but not that many in Bali. Main thing is it ain't crowded.
