not very good at visualising from heights and seconds but pretty sure i'd give it a miss. 4 ft hard enough to deal with on a clean day. sounds like a lot of work for very little... head to the pub and spin yarns about catching tubes in 'choo putting slater and the fafanator to shame!

So, it turns out that 4 feet very close together with deep troughs feels like 6 feet. I got tossed off the back once paddling out and it didn't even break on me. Very, very rough. I didn't make it to the outside break, because my huge 11' board was carrying me 6 feet towards shore each wave, and I got tired of trying, then I got scared I'd be too tired to make it in if I did make it outside, it was so rough.

Nice exercise though. Roughness is exhausting! Definitely the biggest surf I've been out in yet.

been out when its been like that once before and you're defo right... can be fairly dangerous. hard to stay in control. all it takes is one unfortunately placed rock and no more surfing till your sprained or broken ankle has healed.

I'm at the beach. I knew what I was getting into :) Many of people were out, as we don't get too many swells this big, messy or not. Tomorrow morning will be better.

Leave your board at home and take a sponge, great fun being tossed about. :D
