Surfing honeymoon

Postby mowflow » Wed Mar 12, 2008 9:09 pm

I'm getting married this year at the end of September and was wondering what the advice was on the best place for a good honeymoon with the added bonus of good surfing (or should that be the other way round?).

I say the general surfing honeymoon trip would be hawaii, but if you don't like the crowd, I would say like bali? or somewhere else.

The Canarie Islands maby, or some place in the middle of the ocean. If I where you I would go to soemwhere with no crownds and the typical palm trees.

My girlfriends parents have a place in Lanzarote so we go there surfing every year anyway so we are looking at something a bit further a field. Both Bali and Hawaii have been mentioned but we know nothing about the islands. Our surfing abilities vary, i'm not the best (yet) and the misses has just started catching unbroken waves so i guess you'd say novice/intermediate at best. My concern with the popular destinations is as pkbum says the crowds. A big crowd doesn't bother me but I don't really want to spend my honeymoon fighting with locals.

Costa Rica. Bali and most places in Indo can be pretty heavy, even the beachies.

I'd go for Costa Rica, heaps of surfing options, nice places to stay, interesting place, friendly etc etc.

Ya, costa rica isn't too bad a place to go.

Only drawback on CR in sept. is it is in the rainy season, so your day starts out sunny but you will get some rain starting sometime in the afternoon or evening.

Manuel Antonio would be a good choice for a honeymoon with some surfing added. Check it out.
