Cheeky barstewards, 7p cheaper a mile down the road. Not had a choice over past couple of weeks as needed a new ignition switch on the van and had to jump start, this is the only petrol station on a hill nearby my place.

Can any one do worse than this.

Heh $1.79nz works out to about 72p, but wages here are lower so IMO its actualy costing us about the same as the UK.

My local filling station is prepay only now, they have had too many drive offs - and it's in the posh part of town.

Driving a 2.8l turbo diesel 4wd is starting to hurt.

convert to bio-diesel, all you need to do is get a kit to convert used cooking oil into bio-diesel, and start contacting restaurants to pick up their used oil (they'll usually give it to you for free), apparently from what I understand, with the free oil the actual cost (equipment and other chemicals) is about one tenth the cost of regular diesel fuel.

Personally I drive a hybrid, but it's an SUV, so the gas price increases are getting to me too.

Exchange rates are currently about:
A little over $2 US to make 1 pound
Around $1.56 US to make 1 Euro

I paid £1.19 a litre of diesel yesterday.

It was BP's ultimate diesel though.........just wanted to treat my engine cos I've been filling up at Morrisons for £1.12 a litre and I think it's knackered something in my engine.......not running well at all

My fuel costs are £150 a week now!

For all those in the US, we're paying the equivalent of US $5.40 a gallon for diesel

Yep as above on the price in my pic it would be $9 for a US gallon. The uk and us gallon are different a Uk gallon would be over $11 :shock:

Good idea! Just been doing some research into it, and it seems that my 4wd will run on a 50/50 cooking oil diesel mix without any extra work to it - not because it's real flash, it's just a basic old engine in it.

Might give it a go, and see if I can get a big drum of vegetable oil from somewhere.

that doesnt make sense if the exchange rate is around 2 dollars to the pound

1 US gallon=3.79l

3.79*£1.11(quoted UK average)=£4.20

rough exchange rate means double it to make at least US $8.40 for a US Gallon if you were buying over here.

Does that make sense.
