GOOD AIRLINES TO BALI

hi new to this forum but need some help planning a trip to bali next year and am trying to find the cheapest airline to fly from england any web sites or advise would be appreciated??
also cant decide wether to take a board or buy out there how much roughly are the boards out there how much have people payed int he past?? cheers for any input

If your fairly new to surfing.. Just buy one there. If your a good surfer, take your own. Take 2, a good gun and a fun board.
Bali can be consistant certain times of the year but is well known to be 8ft one day and 4ft the next.

thats wicked thanks thats exactly the sort of link i was after!
i cant save enough money to go till july time and am planning on staying 6 +months i realise im missing the ideal time to go but i should still catch the end of the best time to surf surely?
is there not a wave there all year pretty much though??
would appreciate any advice!

i think certain parts of island work different times of the year,I learned there a few years back so only managed kuta but planning on doing the whole mentawai islands in the next couple of years.

Hi - if you're staying that long I'd take your own board(s). Pretty pricey out there in the main shops, and the rentals are just about glued together. Can probably get one made by locals to suit much cheaper if you have the time.

I think Thai Airways takes boards free if your ultimate destination is bali. Quantas too - although BA have changed some rules recently, so as they codeshare on flights not sure if that has changed now.

I was there in september - definitely still a novice but not total beginner. Found kuta ok if crowded/dumpy at times. Loved dreamland - mostly euros in the water so bit friendlier/not so serious, although maybe a bit big for me at times as quite powerful. Anyway, loads of breaks out there.

wicked by the looks of things quantas are the cheapest i can find at the moment so if its free board carriage thats even better!!
interesting about getting a board made by a local being a cheaper option definately be up for that!
i ride a 6'6 fish usually as i find my wave count drops to much on my smaller 6'4 JC in england but with bali being consistantly beter surf than wales/ devon think i may take the 6'4 i used it on my trip to france last year and loved it but find the surf too small generally for me to make good use of it... what do people reckon take the board i use most of the time or the smaller board as on good surf its way more fun??

Hey Nath,

With your pounds currency, Bali will be dirt cheap. Many cheap and clean places that surfers stay at. Anytime all year round, you'll find good waves to surf on.

No shots needed that I know of, but not a bad idea to get anti TB shot. I know TB is still foud in Indonesia, so better be prepared. And bring mosquito repellant. Watch out for dengue fever caused by mosquitos.

Hey, tell her you'll be fine. Hundreds of tourists come to Bali everyday and they all return home safely. If she still worries, take her along! Good luck!

thanks mate shes coming around, asked a couple of the lads and they said thats been up since the bombing
