Armchair Surfer or Not?

Postby kitesurfer » Tue Mar 11, 2008 3:07 pm

OK guys and girls its confession time! Who on here talks a good story and who on here is the real deal? Some of us already know just how badly we suck at surfing already. But there's plenty of people on here that may or may not be commited surfers.
So lets have it truthful answers only please and NO excuses as to why you only get to the beach once every blue moon.

For the sake of fairness i will omit kitesurfing from counting, even though it does seriously cut into my surfing time! Opps sorry was that an excuse?

If i was to average it out over a year including weekends away and holidays to costa rica then i would say personally i get to surf once a week.

I'm going out whenever there are waves, which isn't often enough, unfortunately. Few times a week.

Had to choose the 2nd option because I'm a spoilt bugger when it comes to conditions and I can be picky :)

I havent surfed for over a year, but I'm working on being able to surf everyday for the rest of my life in warm tropical waters surrounded by dusky maidens.

Gotta suffer and not get any water time for a while and put the work in, though.........hopefully by the end of the year my plans will come to fruition

Live a hop skip and a jump from the water so I get home from work at 3:30pm and I am in the water at 4 till dark or till I can no longer paddle.
Weekends I go in afternoon typically.

I havent been since mid december  no wonder I'm feeling weird.

you need to put and option between once a month and once a year. I think at the moment I would fall somewhere there as I have only been able to schedule in surfing twice for the course of the remaining year.....and that's if I dont get behind with my course

I have gone for the yearly option at the mo

I'm a troll! A surfing troll!

I've only surfed 3 or 4 times this year, but I do have genuine excuses which I am apparently not allowed to give!!!

Used to surf about twice a week if the waves were there!

Varies hugely. At the moment i surf once every few months (havent been out since early november!) but while i was living in NZ at times it was every day. And i'm trying to plan my life around living by the surf, which means having to sacrifice water time until then....

Was going everyday, but for some reason I took some responsibility into my life and now I only get out 1-2 times a week.

I would probably go out more if I had a quad fin fish and some english bloke to go surf with for 2 weeks.
