When surfing the backside of Santa Cruz Island....and the gulls are frothing over a spot, odd splashing below the gulls....Your buddies paddled to the boat a long time ago....Spooked,,,maybe just aware and cautious, seems that has only happened to me out there, while in their breeding grounds, I will pay my respects.

I have seen sharks 2 times while surfing, both small, both times kept surfing. Once ventura once costa rica.

It is ok to go out alone, but before you do I would advise getting your conditioning right, and then go out, it will only take 2-3 months of really working yourself to the point of almost puking every day and you will become more fit than anyone there. (unless you are really unfit.) For now paddle out alone only in smaller conditions (esp if you are surfing a point or reef.), and atleast make sure someone knows you are there.

From board recomendations, to the perils and pros of beachies over points, to putting in killer turns and floaters - all this from someone who's just had his FIRST offshore session, has been surfing for less time than my wax has been on my board but thinks Mavs at 40ft would be less dangerous than 10ft choo........

How has this guy a) not been banned and/or b) not been smacked in the mouth by the locals at his break??

Little Francois - you've had plenty of warnings - you keep coming back and talking even more crap than the last time you were here.

You really DO need to give it a rest.......

Today the water was clear, and the waves were just right, and I was out farther than I've ever been... and I was not spooked. I was having a ball.
