Costa Rica in April?

Postby FormosanSurfer » Sun Mar 09, 2008 5:55 pm

I've been to CR several times around December/January but I've got a week of free time following my board exams and I was thinking about heading to CR for a week (I'd like somewhere new, but with only 1 week it seems like a good idea to stick to places I know). Anyway, how's the Guanacaste surf in April?? It shouldn't be raining too much in April right?

Guanacaste is usually great in April. Not much rain, if any, no crowds as most tourists have gone home, lower prices due to smaller crowds, and the surf is starting to really jack up. Good choice if you decide to do it.

I haven't been up to Nicaragua yet but I hear that the surf in April is really good on the Pacific. But I have been hearing some stories about anti-americanism and an increase in violence and petty crime since Ortega took office. But it is all hear-say, no personal experiences. If you go, let me know how it is, been meaning to go but just can't seem to find the time.
