good surf here, had some good sessions, also had some flat spells (but thats expected). where in newcastle you gonna be heading? (thinking of living, if you've looked into it). i was in a similar situation as you (just with college) but now i've moved here its really good. either side of the river there are some good spots and the wind is often offshore. although it is pretty cold like papaw said but have surfed a couple of times without a hood, its just the wind that feels coldest!!

Newcastle is the best for everything!

If your based in the city centre (where uni is) you will only be 15 mins away from Tynemouth which is the place to surf! there is a metro there too if you dont drive.

Also great bars and clubs up here, which I am sure is a must for students...hehehe

Hey I'm at Newcastle uni.. it's nice to know that there is a surfing society; I tried to find it on the societies website with no luck.

How many people are in it on this forum?

Oh by the way, Hi.. I'm Katie, going into third year English next semester. I'm in the student radio, go to a lot of gigs, live in Sandyford.

I can't wait to try Tynemouth- didn't have my own board and stuff last year, so I'm really looking forward to new water... I go to Scarborough at the moment, being a Hull person : )
