Every other week (it seems) there's someone who's first post is 'What's the best board/wetsuit/wax/etc', the second is normally about ' How to get out back', the third, 'How to ride green waves' - and then within the week, he/she is riding double overhead, getting barrelled, duckdiving and generally well on their way to the ASP title........

Me?? Well - I'm still an old git who sucks most days, and then has the odd half decent session. I can turn and I can ride small green waves - but I'll never be Joel Tudor or Josh Constable.

But I still have fun............ :)

Fafinator - cut back on the BS and you'll be fine.

Carry on talking out of your backside, and I see a rough ride ahead....... :)

Edited to say - Hang11 - that really was funny mate!! :)

I have been doing this for quite some time....not to say Im an old salty dog like Otter. But even after the amount of time I have put into getting better at surfing most days I will only get 2-3 waves that are decent in a 2-3 hour session. Doesn't bother me that's just how it works out. It's those days when you are on it and it seems you can do no wrong in the water that make everything fall in place and you really get your stoke on.

lol....stoke on

as well when you're in the water most older people will think that they have priority over you even though they say that they follow the surfing etiquette (or how ever you spell it!).

so basically, only post things that are true and even better if you have evidence. or clearly state that that was supposed to be some homework before writing it!

Huh? I'm pretty much a grom too but that was'nt a poetic essay. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm sure it was just an innocent post but it was pretty damn weird, especially the epilepsy bit.

I couldn't think of another word, what I mean is it is a style of writing that you don't really use much for anything else than a story, unless otherwhise stated, but it looks to me that I have to state that something is true or not, because when I think about it, most people lose there imagination almost completely when they become adults, while I have as much (active) imagination as a 5 year old.

You really need to stop leaving yourself so wide open for people to crack on you Faf.
Not trying to be mean but it's comments like:
"while I have as much (active) imagination as a 5 year old."
that add fuel to the fire. Just FYI.
Also when you are putting "stories" up in the forum you probably should note that in the subject line along with the title.

What then sould I do to stop a flame war, I know now how to prevent fires, but how sould I stop a fire that spawned from a misunderstanding.

Take it on the chin and move on.
Also, learn to be able to laugh at yourself as much as you can at others.

She wasn't able to surf because her shaper had forsaken her. So along comes Captain Awsome in his gleaming wetsuit of power to save the day. He scaled the imense tower that was penatrating the sky. With his stik strapped to his back he reached the portal and slipped into the chamber. Captain Awsome told the fair lady to set aside her fear as he was there to save her from her waveless future. He picked her up and jumped out the portal. He called upon his powers of Awsomeness to allow them to glide to the ground safely. He then used his stik of teleportation and they were transported to restraunts where an epic swell was coming in. They surfed happily ever after.
