Your best NSW surf spots

A mate of mine is coming to Sydney. He is a fairly experienced surfer. I'd love to know your opinion of:

1. The best surf spot in Sydney

2. The best surf spot/area 1 hour North or South of Sydney suburbia

Best spot in Sydney.... mmmm Im biased for Nthrn Beaches and would have to say the stretch between DY Point and Nth Narra lefts. Sydney has so many different and diverse breaks it is hard to say just 1 break. Long Reef can give some good variety at times...
1 hour South? He He thats easy... Easty! East Corrimal, Wollongong.

Some good waves just about everywhere down here tho.

Cool. The mate I talk of is coming from England, so he will be desperate to hit the surf as much as possible. It will be a while till he comes out here though, so any other suggestions would be great.
