surf and stay...

Was thinking of going down newquay next week or early march for a few days and as a beginner having a few lessons from this place, just wandered if anyone had any opinions on this place http://www.surfschool.co.uk/surfstay.html
or the idea of staying at somewhere similar? cheers marc

i've went there a few times when i first started out learning to surf and got some great surf and stay packages.

the guys there are amazing - they really want you to enjoy it and are ultra friendly and easy going - it doesn't come across as a money-making scheme like some other places... they're in it for the love of surfing. oh, and if you stay there they do an AMAZING breakfast!

if they are fully booked or something, another place i highly recommend is the escape surf school by towan beach. the guys there actually spend individual time with you (more than dolphin) and will ensure that you stand up before on a board before you leave. The escape surf school also has some good deals where you can stay at St Christophers Inn/ Belushi's right on the same site.

but... i found the techniques and info the dolphin surf school gave was better than the escape surf school, and I guess it depends how busy they are as to how much individual coaching you get. Also, the dolphin surf school takes you to the place most suitable on the day.
