How often do you surf?

Postby The Fafanator » Mon Feb 11, 2008 3:55 pm

ow often do you surf, and for how long. (please add it up to make a monthly omoant of surfing.)
Personally I surf 3 times a week, for 2 1/2 - 3 hours (sometimes 5-6 hours, depends on how good the surf is) So about 36-40 hours a month.

I wish I could surf more, but my grandmother is overprotective and forces my grandfather to come and watch me while I surf, meaning I can't surf that often or that long.

Not nearly enough.. :(

I usually only get out once or twice on the weekends and its normally only for couple hours. If I were to add it up.. on a GOOD month, I'd get about 14-18 hours. :(

On a more typical or bad month.. probably like 4-8 hours a month. :( Dang.. Im never going to get any good if I continue to slack off like this..

whenever's there's alot of wind i go! usually when the weather's grim! (Brighton) if you've surfed there you'll know what i mean.
go abroad 2-3 times ayear for a couple weeks, then almost every weekend i have off i go to cornwall if the swell's on.
went yesterday day with a mate, left at 3am got there for 7am waited til about 8am for the tide to go out a bit and the fog to lift so we could actually see the waves. left at 5pm home by 9pm and back at work for 8am today! 8 hours driving 10 hours in cornwall about 600 miles all in one day!
done this afew times, only when it's good though! surfed south fistral, jumped off the rocks, waves got bigger throughout the day, was pretty rad.
so any one who lives inland can't really give the excuse that they can't surf more! just put a bit more love and devotion into it. (also energy drinks and plenty of petrol) oh yeah, no where in the uk is like more than 70 miles from the sea.....to be continued?
man i need some sleep

I give my grandpaents lectures, instead of the other way around, I tell them that I am more likely to be struck with lightning on a cloudless day than being bitten by a shark or die of drowning. (which is true)

i surf both days at the weekend if i can. Can't go thru the week at the moment as it's winter and it gets dark at half 5 and i work too!
Moment the days get a bot longer then my mates and i try and go out as much as possible, sometimes every day of the week, other times maybe just once or twice, just depends on the swell, the weather, footie on tv etc...

actually quite a lot of people die from drowning but not so many from being bitten by a shark.

Once per week, going to school from 8 am to 6 pm, usually no time for surfing. But I wish I could surf at night if I could, but can't see anything :(
