plainning??

Postby CroniK » Wed Jan 30, 2008 2:33 am

Been surfin for about 2 or 3 months, started on a used 6'4" Pearson. I can pop up when I catch the wave, but I have noticed good surfers tend to plain at the top of the wave when they catch it. How do they do this??

Don't understand the question, what do you mean by plaining?

Are you talking about staying level as opposed to the nose dipping down to follow the wave?

If so, I think I was struggling with the same thing, so I started really picking my head up high. Like, dont keep your back straight as you are popping up, bend it backwards like you are looking up at the sky (even though you probably shouldn't looking up. Keep focussed on where you are headed on the wave). Cause that tends to shift my weight back off my chest which keeps you more level.
