Nice clear close up shots of the riders. Cool, but unless you know the people I think it is more interesting to show the 'whole story'. What I mean by that is whilst its good to have a close up of what the rider IS doing, its more interesting to see what the rider HAS done and is ABOUT to do as well. In other words show more of the wave so you can see the path they have ridden and the potential route they might take.
Obviously just my own opinion and no offence intended :) .

Ta for the replies

The truth be told I know little about surfing ... i just stand on the beach and take some photos....

Just when I was getting into it the winter comes along ... with photos of these kind you need really bright summer days ... the more recent ones are pretty poor quality

but I will probably keep on taking the photos during the winter... and tommorow is the Scarborough Open... though it will be probably a wash out because the wind is coming from the west

For the non-UK people on this board, the NY in scarboroughsurfcity's first post is the glorious county of North Yorkshire, rather than New York State.

Really like these pics, especially the one with the oil rig in the background!

Sorry to bring this back from last year, but only just looked at these photos.
I'm sorry to be the odd-one-out but these have got to be just about the worst surf photos that I've ever seen!
Theyre good for showing people having fun and getting some exercise but as far as wave quality is concerned theyre awful. Soup, soup and more soup. Maybe Im spoilt where I surf, but Scarborough looks like a very choppy and messy wave. Makes me tired just looking at the photos, must be a nightmare to get out the back.
