Barly be anything there mate I wouldn't bother.

Best bet is 1st thing Sat morning with the pushing tide in the town bay itself. will be a bit cleaner there.

Don't bother this weekend - it's either too small (Sunday) or too short period and too windy (Saturday) - towan might be sheltered, but the wind is strong enough for the place to be rammed with windsurfers.......

It's my 'local' break too (100 bloody miles away, but hey.....) and I go as often as I can (shift work, so I can go midweek).

There's a few decent spots that I tend to stick to - only thing is, when it's on, there's a 'crowd' there who aren't exactly up on the whole etiquette thing and can ruin an otherwise good session!

Anyway - let me know when you go, as it'd be nice to go as a group .......

LOL - 'staying away' from them is difficult, as they do love to come and keep you company.....

Flappy Paddle bloke is funny (as long as he's dropping in on other people) but Catweasel is really annoying with his snaking!!

Abbrefraw (despite the long walk) is getting seriously appealing just to have the break free from those lot!! ;)

Magic sea weed is giving H/M 3/ 4 foot I've normal found it to be a foot biger than what it says, its giving 1 foot for anglesy, 2 3 foot waves would do me for an easy mini mal session

What every one think?

went on a bit of a safari today  barmouth to hells mouth and everything in between...found some real intersting places..........most where blown out tho..

we eneded up at whistling sands......2ft and relatively clean......an hour on my new board i was realy gettin into it...and then some really selfish bloke went and impaled his leg on his fin and snapped his thigh bone    there was only a hand full if that surfing and we all went to lend a had.....some serious blood pumping out of his wetsuit....in the end we had an abulance,hm coast guard and a helicopter.

hope your ok mark

Sunday could work as it's predominently cross shore - but I guess being weekend it will be full.........

I quite fancy the long walk to Abber - if anyone else would be interested??

It's 15 minutes trek from the closest car park to the beach - and no way of knowing what the waves will be doing until you're almost at the water's edge - but it won't have the drop-in brigade there........... :) And given the prevailing wind direction, it 'could' be sheltered.........
