Thought id start this thread as im sure there are a few people here that play musical instruments so id assume that a few of you have uploaded some of that somewhwere.

Be kinda cool to hear what others have got going 8)

Oh if you play but got nothing recorded Get off your lazy asses and get something done its one of the most gratifieng things to hear your own music. Even if like me the production is a tad sketchy

i used to play in a band... its been a LONG time since then..
i like to play jazz bass, and funk bass... and really wanna get into some reggae stuff.

but here is a song my band wrote about 10 years ago when we were like 14 or 15 years old.
please be kind, as i was just learning bass at the time and my timing, well none of the band was very good with timing at the time.. LOL

What have you got going?

I play around with Reason, but haven't made anything that's worth uploading. Minimalist Techno etc.

Dude that sounds awesome the intro is really ambient gets pretty funky as it gets going. Reminds me of a sorta funky trip of sorts  the only thing that could make it better is some vocals

I never could get into reason ive always just used cubase sx mainly because at the start plugins were easy to find but now days it doesnt really matter

This is what iam doing at the moment http://www.mystictraveller.net xcuse the site its a work in progress. I sorta play a mix between reggae, rock, and acid/alternative rock. Im still in the process of remixing most my songs. As i suck at mixing/mastering the production is sometimes a tad sketchy

8) Great thread!...and i hope it grows in length and depth, where it can reach such levels of artistic creativity... that babe of the day has.

I like you stuff saluteyou. ..you know it reminds me a bit of Nick Cave...great to put on when your in one of those kind of moods!

Greg, your band sounds a lot better than the on i was in at 14....i like the heavy bit!

Getting back into playing music is definitley on the agenda after i finish uni, my mate keeps nagging me to do some stuff with him.

Its funny but i never listened to nick cave until a guy in the music biz said we our music had that moody sound. I find it really hard to do happy music it always ends up either being somwewhat phycodelic or moody

The reason for no vocals was our singer was playing the trumpet.
but thanks for the kind words.

 i know what you mean its a real crapshoot playing and singing at the same time (that being impossible with a trumpet  )

Mind you thats the nice thing about recording - what you cant get done in take one theres always track layering  Still i love instrumentals always have found that vocals give the song meaning. Wasnt it the band "the shadows" that only ever did instrumentals mmmm i cant rightly remember now
