surf competition?

i was wondering how they do it... do you go 1 by 1.. or is everyone just surfing.. if so.. then how do they keep track?

Usualy groups of 4 or so, given a time limit (30min) and 10 waves, judges keep a good eye out.

Ya its usualy 4 man heats and whoever is deepest in the lineup get right of way. that is for wqs events.

WCT events are 2 man heats and they have a wave priority system so each surfer gets a turn and its top 2 scoreing waves are counted. much better imo but it is the wct.
