Sewage outflow & its effects on the surfing community *

Postby PapaW » Wed Sep 08, 2004 5:07 pm

Hello Everyone...

I've finalised my degree dissertation questionnaire in which I’m examining the effect water quality has on the surfing community and their surfing habits.
I'm posting it up here for you all to fill out if you could please spare a few moments I would be very grateful.

It's as a word document and the instructions included! If you could just highlight/underline etc the answers that apply. Also add any information where necessary. Don't worry if the format gets messed up I'll still be able to get your answers.

Click the link below to download the questionnaire*
http://www.undeb.bangor.ac.uk/surf/questions.doc

Once completed please e-mail the file to: tcuc1b@bangor.ac.uk

(* The file is assured to be virus free and is held on University servers)

Yeah thats fine.. if you read the instructions at the top of the page (on the questionnaire)
Its cause its the copy that I would normally print off. Only way it can be done unfortunalty, so Yes, just under lined them or colour the text of the answers that apply

hey papa also aswell as pollution such as toilet waste you gotta think of waste such as chemicals we use such as bleach, soap, shampoo, washing machine dirty water/detergent that all goes down our drain and in the the sea too, god knows what damage that does maybe one day we wont ever be able to surf! xxxxx!!!

Aye I already have.. The Thing is that if I where to investigate that also I would have enough data to be doing a masters dissertation... All good and well but not enough time!

I'd love to and perhaps someone hcan follow on from my dissertation for theirs in the future...

ah thats cool then, so all the stuff you have found out, is it a bit worrying to read??oh yeah i have noticed how much cleaner the water is in the west country, im in the channel coast just past portsmouth and when your past three foot you cant see the bottom, whereas when i go to cornwall its much clearer, think the situation is alot worse then we think,

for deffo... I've noticed the clean up for shore.. teh bristol channel doesn't seem to be chucking out so much sediments and such at the moment... that or pehaps all the sand dredging and extraction the've been doing hs made the channel deeper... Its certanily dropped the level of woolacombe sands by about 6 metres... all a bit worrieing for the surrounding areas too... coastal erosion and everything..

where i live in guernsey the sewage problem is dominating the news as pipes are letting too much sewage out into the area that we use to surf
