longboard skate boarding is huge fun.
You can pump it pretty well too.
I recommend a Sector 9 personally.. I love those boards.

depending where you are, craigslist.org can be a great place to find one... and a surf board!

Talking of pumping, check this out.
I learnt to pump by watching this and chatting to Dan, the guy in the vid.

What you want is a nice 9 ply maple deck, with a flex upward with no load, so it give you a bit of spring when you stand on it, and a set of seismic trucks and big fat grippy slalom wheels. Recipe for lots of fun.

no geeky element, at UH (university of hawaii) i see loeads of guys riding them around campus. if college surfer type guys in their early 20's are geeks, then who watches star trek?

i thought you were reffering to longboarding to have the geeky element. no i agree. most skateboards on campus are longboards. shortboards are for kids, not sure if their geeky for kids. i suppose older guys on skatebords are kind of geeky.

You're never too oldalthough the healing process takes a bit longer when it inevitably goes pear shaped!!

Ok 31 and a half!

So is my presumed youth down to my youthful good looks or my utter immaturity!?!?
