msw isnt the best forcast for any of the north of england or scotland. i dont normally look at forcasts as i live so near the beach its just a look out of the window, but i have noticed that surfcore.co.uk is usually pretty accurate, as for that depending how far away you live the webcam or a look your self is the best bet

there also has been surf not so long ago but i'd say just check a couple of different site forcasts and try and learn to use wave buoys if you can

NE can be a bit fickle but saying that this has probably been the most consistent year i can remember fron the last 10 or 12 when i started surfing. Been flat for a couple of weeks but hey what went on before was all time.

Sunday monday looking good with nice tide times, good winds (early days) and not too cold. Check the spectrals on msw and try and look at tthe weather systems when it is workming so you can rcognise them next time round.

Oh merry christmas all and all thayt had to get a proper job so been working.

I'll be at Scarborough tomorrow, so if you're in NE 6ft swell at 12 seconds, looking good for N.E and East coast in general, need some 'juice'! Been a month!

I think MSW has been a bit off recently. Looked at the forecast today. Said there was 11 ft. swell. I knew it wouldn't be this big but at least hoped it was at least 5 ft. Got to the beach and it was 2-3 ft. Been like this for most of the month.

the swell doesnt predict the waves size, you will have to look at a wave buoy and see if the swell height and wave period will combine to make a good sized wave. but then you have to consider the wind and tides..etc..however msw doesn't normally predict too well, although the nearest beach to me at home (cardiff) gets the prediction daily from a surf shop which gives pictures of the surf and wave size...etc which is good
