I try not to but it happens. Uric acid rots the seams and stuff.
Had a mate who went surfing once whilst he had the shits... needless to say he drove home wearing it (full suit with boots), you know, took it off in the shower... :!:

... ITs not like your suit is going to be filled with piss all day and rot it out so when you get out you have a big hole in your crotch, it rinses itself out so its not that bad for it. And also, why paddle in, hike up to the restroom with your board, get out of your wetsuit, pee, get back in, hike back down to the beach again, paddle back out... thats like a half hour wasted right there. I find it easier just to pee in the suit

personal jacuzzi on colder days... 8)

Death, it's different when you wear an almost dry 5mm steamer with boots dude! I just try to remember to have a piss before surfing, but if ya gotta go then ya gotta go.

Not only do I pee, I drink as much water as possible in the 1/2 hour before going out...to obtain the maximum "volume" possible on a cold day. Excellent:-)

I used to but then I found out it wrecks the stitching so I found the ideal answer................go abroad where you don't need a wettie.....ha! Simple!

I had a mate who went potholing and he used to use his self powered central heating in his wetsuit but he ended up putting his suit on in 5 separate pieces! Also, a much greater consequence is that when he returned to the bar in the evening after a day down the pots he would occasionally forget (in the fuzzy aftermath of a few pints) that he wasn't actually in his wetsuit down the pothole and would end up getting rather embarrassed!!

John Hubbard from Billabong wetsuits replies:

You know how the old joke goes: 90% of us do it and the other 10% lie about it -- or something like that. Anyways, don't be afraid to turn up the water water heater from time to time, if you know what I mean.

Urine won't damage the suit, but I highly recommend making sure your suit is flushed out before returning to shore, Unless of course you like to smell like pee.

If you're going to leave the suit for a while, it's a good idea to rinse in warm water and mild detergent and hang in a cool, dry place.

Found that on: http://www.surfline.com/community/whoknows/06_28_pee.cfm

Interesting find IrishGirl, I had always thought that urine degraded the neoprene and that was the reason why you should not pee in your wetsuit. (apart from the smell of course!)

If you drink enough water normally in your daily lives and if you rinse your wettie out after MOST surfs, pee won't harm it. Unless you're badly dehydrated most of the time your natural PH level won't be too out of wack. If so just drink more water & pee more. Ahhhhh one of surfing's simple pleasures...

Just my 2 cents worth..
