SURF TRIP ADVICE.. PLEASE HELP NOW

Postby pgfrankl » Wed Dec 19, 2007 2:29 am

heY ALL

ok here is the deal. I am visiting friends in korea, i am from canada, and part of my vacation was to fly somewhere random to surf

i like doing things on a whim, but i cant decide where to go.. Budget is not an issue, i have enough cash to last me a few months.. so where should i go.. i keep seeing that it is out of season in G-land (java bali etc) but are the waves still good there

I am an experienced surfer been riding waves and the mountains all my life, been to maui a few times, Puerto Escondido, and surf all the time in Nova scotia and tofino... I can handle big waves, scary stuff, reef all of it.

So plllllease i want to book a flight tonight and leave Korea(freezzzing my a$$ off) ASAP...

Any recommendations?

Here are my guidelines

cost is not really an issue but i just got off a 13 hour flight a few days ago so not too far from korea...

i want warm water, bug waves

i didnt bring my board so i need to be able to buy one either at the destination or en route...

please please please get back to me soon..

I m not sure if my advice is gonna help you but, try watching the "Endless summer I & II". It'll give you a good idea where to go!

Can you have an indecisive whim? Does that still count as a whim? :?:

dude, next time try central Peru, Chile, northern Peru is awesome as well but it has surrfing seasons, december - march nice perfect waves, long rides, also ecuador has ok waves, in Europe, portugal, spain in the south atalntic part and the cantabric sea part, this last one is better and also france, pretty cool waves as well, but it's best in winter when it's cold, you can try lots of places in africa as well...

MMMMM, Indo charter.
All inclusive and someone finds the waves for you. Sleep, eat, drink surf.
