There's been a few questions!

Postby jaffa1949 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 5:05 am

Quite a few of our beginners have been asking questions about tides swell and wind direction so today offered a good chance to take some photos and show the differences on the same swell at either end of the same beach.
I am of the opinion that you need to get to know how swell , winds and direction of both effect your local beaches. That knowledge is vital to becoming a full surfer.
So

Southern end lee shore beach.

Northern end full side shore mess , one surfer out there

South end again pleasant enough to be on the beach

It took multiple mobile phone calls for those that didn't know the local conditions to even get there to go out.
Local knowledge is the winner!

I would rather surf the side shore mess alone than have to deaL with crowds
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

nice pics Jaffa! My locals conditions are looking messy as this weekend so i'm drooling over what your beach is offering up!

It is crazy how much it can vary with conditions just from one end of the beach to the other.

Good surf is so boring. I don't want the same wave over and over again. I would fall asleep while I surfed
