WHAT POINT DO I TURN

HI, CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY TIPS ON TURNING MY BOARD? I HAVE NO PROBLEM POPPING UP AND RIDING IN STRAIGHT TO THE SHORE, BUT I CANT SEEM TO MASTER TURNING AT THE MOMENT AS IM NOT SURE AT WHAT POINT I NEED TO TURN AND NOT TOTALLY SURE ABOUT MY FOOT/HIP WORK

Dont lean.... thats probably the most common mistake. Of course there is some leaning involved, but for learning try not to until you get the han gof it. If you have ever played basketball, it is pretty simular to pivoting, plant your back foot, rotate your front.

The motion starts in your head. first, turn your head to the direction you want to go, then follow with your shoulders, then comes your hips and feet.

Another handy little tip is to start angling your board down the line just before you get up - this gets you started in the right direction.

i found, if i subtley lean into the wave just after my popup i go down the wave correctly, just dont lean to hard or you'll screw it, like i have maaany a time. but practice is the key.
