Lucky lucky. The best waves I have ever seen I saw at Narrabeen. It was well overhead (middle of a classic cyclone swell). I was watching from the beach and this guy got a stand up barrel, hands above his head. sick

Live in the mid/north east of Jersey, so 5 minute drive heading north, 5 minute drive heading east, 10 minute drive heading south, and a whole 15 minute drive to my fave beach in the west

Depending on time of day - you can add atleast an hour onto the south and west drive during morning and afternoon rush (7.30am-9.30am and 2.30pm-6.30pm). Gets even worse at school kicking out time - I have 5 private schools within a one mile radius of my house, and all the snob arse parents picking their brats up in the BMW/Merc/Porche... 4x4's (which have never ever seen a drop of mud!!) block the roads up even more... bring back the days of the bodyboard and scooter when I could just nip in and out of the jams - woohoo

2 hour drive to the closest beach (which sucks).
2:30 hour to the closest average beach.
6 hours to the closest good beach.

Wish I were in ANY of your guys' shoes! I live 1000 miles give or take! To get to a legit surf spot, that's 13 hour drive, 2 hour fairy ride and another 4 hour-5 hour drive after that. Takes about a day and a half. Not cool.

I surf 1-2 times a year for a few days NS. Im craving it right now. :( It's what keeps me novice. But, for the most part I can pick up where I left off.

1km but the surf isn't so great here (though its the best wind surfing beach in SE Asia). I usually take the 3-5 hour trip to a good beach on the weekend.

Our city may be small but the advantage is that it takes about 10 minutes to get to any of the 5 decent breaks on our city's coast line.

You could hop from one break to the next in a matter of minutes and if you're feeling up to it, you could even walk.

I'm blessed in that I stay 100 meters from the beach.... shweet!
