The dark side.

Postby WooD » Mon Sep 25, 2006 9:24 pm

Having never rode anything but longboards. I feel its time to drift into the dark side of shortboards.

I talked to one of our best local shapers, and told him the truth about my abilities, size, age, and everything else he asked.

I'm 5'11" and weigh in between 165, and 170 LBS.

This is the board he thought wood work best for me.

Its 6.10 X 12 1/4 X 20 X 14 1/2 2 3/8 Will be shaped out of epoxy.

I guess in around 4 weeks I'm gonna fly, or crash, and burn.

sounds a good choice of board, whats the 14 1/2 is that one foot off width or something?
You should find that board pretty good, its a big one but youll already be used to committing a lot of weight to the rail in turns if your a longboarder so shouldnt be a problem.

now youll be able to learn all those fancy things most longboarders only dream about, like "manouvers" "duck-diving" and "putting your board in the car" :D

I forgot to put an X in. The 14 1/2 is the width one foot from the tail. As far as putting it in the car. I dont even own one. I have a truck, and a Jeep with a roof rack. Now duck diving is something I'm looking forward to, and more than that is being able to get out during our winter noreasters where by the time you finally get out, you've drifted a half mile down the beach. Carrying a 27 pound log a up the beach in 30 knott winds aint a good time.
