Next swell?

Postby Belladaeberick » Mon Aug 17, 2020 10:55 pm

Okay so we’ve have a pretty good swell on the beaches of Southern California. A hurricane off the coast of Mexico brought a south swell. Is there anyway to tell when the next swell will hit? Or from what direction it’s going to come from? I’m hoping on a north swell so I can start taking some rights and going frontside again.

I use Stormsurf because I go to baja on weekends and it has long range swell and wind directions.

And it has been flat and cold last 2 weeks, hope for a bump from the Hurricane too, but you will need to find a south facing beach.

This is one of my favorite free forecasting resources:

As far as recent swell, there were some inconsistent shoulder to head high sets rolling through this morning. I'm north of Point Concepcion so swell energy hits us a bit differently than in SoCal.
