Inflatable Surf Reef

This looks like a good idea. The reef would create better waves for surfers, attract wildlife and help with beach erosion by making waves break further outside. Perhaps a solid reef would be better. What do you think?

I think its a cool idea. The main problem I can see is even if it had bulletproof environmental assessments that proved without a shadow of a doubt that it was safe for the beach ecosystem, people would still be screaming "won't someone please think of the sand fleas"

I'm all in for protecting the environment, but pretty much no one looks at studies. I just think it would freak people out.

Other than that, I would like to see something like this work.

Artificial surfing reef that is. The nearshore environment is one of change so no permanent changes will fit in.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

True. Therein lies the challenge.

Maybe it molds itself to the bottom contour, or it can be moved?
