I don't know if this is ok or not but there is a guy Scott Mijares who lies on Kauai and does a weekly program which interviews prominent surfers in the history of surfing. It is put on a local Kauai non profit radio station KKCR weekly at 5 pm HST. He does a great job and if any of you are interested in hearing about famous surfers shapers photogs etc. from the past it's a good way to waste an hour of time. I found that they are archived at https://soundcloud.com/#surf-stories so you dont have to listen live. Or at least some of them are archived there (there are only 9). There is one with Keith Galbraith, who I know is a famous big wave surfer, and Mike Hynson who was one of the stars of The Endless Summer! (and then had a serious drug problem). That one sounds fascinating.

Am downloading now... (podcasts are fantastic to listen to when doing the dishes or other chores!)

Yeah I was going to mention that. He just came back from an Endless Summer anniversary celebration and interviewed people from that. He does a really great job of bringing out the stories behind the surf scene. I have been listening for a couple years now. It's on every Wednesday at 5 pm HST and can be listened live on the internet.

He interviewed a variety of surfers, shapers, photographers, adventurers, entrepreneurs, including Dick Brewer, Greg Long, Reno Abelliera, Felipe Pomar, Bing Copeland, Larry Bertleman, Buttons Kaluhiokalani, Paul Strauch, Mike Doyle and Joey Cabel it's just endless

Also some interesting guys like paraplegic big wave surfer Leigh Wai Doo and an interview with a surfer who sat on the back of a tiger shark after it grabbed his board

This is the radio program that airs every Wednesday at PM HST. The guy who does this looks mostly for people with connections to Kauai. He just re-aired this one from Joey Cabell who is an ex pro surfer and big wave surfer who was known for his super fast board called the "White Ghost". I met him long ago when I was paipo boarding. My surfer friends wanted me to meet him so that I would ask him to make me a foam Paipo board but I didn't want a foam paipo board. He was making a surfboard at the time and I got to watch him do it and later used that information to make my own surfboard.
