Advice needed from surf chick with long hair!

Postby littlemoonpie » Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:35 pm

Hiya,

I have hair which is very long (half way down my back) and whenever I go surfing it ends up in a massive clump of dredded up knots which can take a good couple of hours to comb out! (very traumatising!)
Ive tried so many things such as coating with conditioner before going in, plaitting, pony tail nothing seems to be working!!
Is there anyone out there who knows of some sort of magic remedy for this! I am willing to try ANYTHING!... except for having it cut short of course

Many Thanks!

I am actually a guy who used to have very long hair. and I found that braiding it would do the trick.

Thanks for that, I will try braiding it next time and see how it goes... as for the swimming cap - I don't think my ego could handle that!

Stick some conditioner in it before you go in.

Get it in a pony tail, then twist the hair round your fingers, then wrap it round your hairband, then get another hairband and stick it over the top, so you have a tight bun. It sounds complicated, but I found it really works.

Go with it, I mean that's what surfings about right?
Naah I haven't been surfing for too long so I guess I don't know a whole lot about surfing, but I have long curly hair and yes it does get tangeled but I wait until I get home to do anything about it. It's not a big deal I mean yeah seaweed and sand and whatever is going to get stuck in my hair but I'm not too worried about it. Once I get home though I wash it out very well.

Hi, I understand how difficult it is to comb long hair when it is tied together and it takes a long time.
I have been braids my long hair for some time and this hair texture model has helped me a lot in solving this problem. I have been braids here [ for about 4 months. Of course, I live near Canada.
These textures were a great option for me, who is very interested in long hair.
