Non-stoney beaches?

Postby sand dollar » Mon Sep 24, 2007 12:32 pm

Hi guys,

I just went to Widemouth on Saturday for my 5th surfing session ever...

Apart from huge messy waves (well they seemed giant to me), I was really bothered by the big stones underfoot. I wonder if anyone can tell me which beaches have stones/no stones so I can make an informed choice. Next time I will try wearing boots too!

Widemouth is a bit of a bugger for that isnt it?

Plenty of spots with barely any rocks/stones at all. Saunton is the obvious first choice. Westward Ho! too, and most of the bigger bays - watergate, fistral, perranporth.
