had a sesh yesterday. I woke up at 4:20 to go to a friend's house and get a ride from there. Got to the beach around 8:30 or 9:00 and surfed until like 4, when high tide rolled around and nothing would break.

Turned out to be a great session. In the morning it was high tide and blown out, but then low tide rolled around, and the winds shifted to offshore, about 10 knots.

It was great for a while. We just kinda stood on the sandbar, and when a wave came that we wanted, just gave two paddles and jumped to our feet.

We went further south than usual, and it was definately worth it. Everyone there had a really chill attitude, it was nice.

I took out my center fin yesterday, and I love it. Most of the waves are small, and without the center fin its a whole lot easier to manuver. I had one wave where I was the only one on (a rarity), made a solid bottom turn, gave it two pumps, came up, hit the lip, had a good re-entry, and then pumped until the wave died, and spun out the tail. So much fun.

But being outside all day, and having extremely fair skin, I am absoulutely broiled. My eye sockets are just scorched, and the backs of my knees are awful.

But all in all, it was a great trip. Had tons of fun.

And I've got an offer to go next weekend......and a hurricane is coming

yeah, swell was in here too, solid 2-3ft at gennith with the odd set gettign up to around 5ft. Glassy as, and a really heavy barrelling closeout of a shorebreak strong enough to keep all the summer surfers, beginners and swimmers from getting out.

Was out for the first time in 3 months in the East coast of Scotland on Sunday (snapped my collar-bone snowboarding in March)

It was pretty flat but I wasn't caring - GREAT TO BE BACK IN THE WATER! :D

Got down to Croyde late monday. Some Nice surf tuesday morning, 3-4ft ish. A little spoilt when the wind changed (it was forecast as offshore) but I got some really satisfying moments in, it's been a while since I've surfed. Not much worth talking about wednesday (today)

it's 5pm, I've just got home, I'm exhausted, hungry, sunburnt and I've got about two days worth of crusted sea salt in my hair but I'm happier that I've been in a while! :)

i got in at saunton tuesday the wind droped off completly about mid day for a few hours though and went lovely and glassy was only about 2ft though with the odd bigger sets pushing through every 20 mins or so, banks were setup nicely just shame about the uneducated croweds that feel they need to drop in on you, ended up about 1.5 miles down the beach in the end just to get away. i think that was my first decent surf of the year

My last surf was at putsborough. 2ft clean and not too busy. Good for a paddle.
Was going to go in at croyde but decided just to take a photo instead. I think you'll understand why i chose not to go in at croyde when you look at the photo.

What a week!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
Dawnie on tuesday in newgale wasnt marvelous about 2ft, a dawny in manobier yesterday had the whole bay to myself with the sun comming up over the castle- such an awesome sight. Back to manobier afterwork last night :D :D it was pretty busy but still caught a nice few waves and even managed to do a bottom turn whilst pivoting around my arm which was in the water :D :D for the 1st time :D .
Off out tonight to check out either whitesands/manobier/newgale to see if theirs anything about.
Only complaint was that i cant duckdive my minimal and took a couple of beatings last night when turtlerolling the damn thing :( But sexy new fish in 9 days :D :D :D :D

Say goodbye to turtle rolling and hello to duck diving or in my case falling off and having the board pop up in the air and land on my head!

It is a little exaggerated but not by far. It was Oceanfest (chav fest) that weekend so the place was more heaving than normal.....

anyway... Jumped in at Combesgate to catch the last of the swell as the winds dropped over night and left a clean and fun 2ft to hit first thing before work this morning :)
