Surfing Blacks underwater housing video

Postby isaluteyou » Wed Apr 16, 2008 2:44 am

This was taken a while back finally got round to uploading it. Its just a short vid i took when my brother came out to san diego. Its mostly of blacks which on the day was damn fine conditions. The scripps section was all bodyboarding as the waves sucked and we were just messing around. Its also our first time trying out the underwater video housing. So take it easy

Enjoy!!

Managed to get a couple of good angles there, its well hard getting them on beach breaks unless you want to swim around loads or get pounding every shot :p

Yep i edited out so much whitewash pounding got hit plenty of times  Its also really tricky to remain steady and get into position where you wont get run over. Taking a camera into the surf is like magic every surfer is suddenly on there best behaviour

Haha yeah !

I've found the best teqnique is to lye back and swing backwards (having fins helps too) while you film. By gently controling your direction you have a smoother shot (watch out for breaking the surface infront of you tho/ feet showing)

Ouch man.. that hurts. heh. No worries though, we all start somewhere. Have you thought about picking up a longer-long board to learn on? Looks like that short board might just be too small for you to handle just starting out.

You should look into renting or buying a used longboard or something. It will DEFINITELY help.

Ahh, I understand that one.. longest I can fit in my car is a 7'5.. Luckily I have a rack installed now, so Im all good for any size.. but I still know what you mean.

Keep at it though. You will get there. What size is that board you are on? What kind of height/weight are you?
