Newcastle uni!
-Newcastle is a bloody lovely city
-The uni is very nice, too- very pretty, and the courses are good. Library is huge! It's all campus based, so building not a massive treck apart.
-The Student Union is v. cheap & the range of societies is good. Student club night is a bit rubbish, though- we always generally go across the road to Northumbria Uni's night!
-Great night & day life. Shopping is impressive & there are lots of venues, clubs, bars & pubs. There are some right gems tucked around the city that serve amazing beers & food, as well as getting good bands. Generally not massively advertised, more word-of-mouth. I recommend: The Cluny, The Cooperage, Cumberland Arms. Also Newcastle has a MASSIVE mall called the Metro Centre.
-Public transport is actually really good- regular buses running til about 11pm, the under/overground metro is pretty cheap, too.
-Good music scene, we have a Carling Academy, as well as a lot of cool other venues like the Head of Steam, Metro Arena, The Cluny, Dog & Parrot, Other Rooms etc.
-Surfing scene: tynemouth obviously... and some 'secret spots' I would definitely recommend asking about

-Surfing club. Not just windsurfers- surfers, too! And they have kit to lend & go out regularly
-There is also a rock climbing club that organisers trips out, and other more extreme sports like caving & skydiving
-1st yr halls are a bit old, but not skanky. They're fun. Other accommodation around, too- I was in the biggest, oldest halls nearer the campus, but there are some newer, nicer ones.
Also, if you don't fancy any courses at Newc uni, there is Northumbria Uni, which is basically opposite my campus.
So yeh, lots of reasons to go!
