A few from Maroubra - Labour Day 2012

Postby drowningbitbybit » Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:51 am

It was Labour day here in Oz on monday, and there was a nice southerly swell running delivering the goods at Maroubra.
So here are a few shots.
For those that care about that kind of thing - taken with a Nikon D800 and a 300mm lens at F5.6. These were taken from the beach, and at 7am and the conditions weren't great for photography as the sun was almost directly behind the surfers (the downside of living on the east coast) hence the surfers tend to be silhouetted.

I snapped for an hour and then got in amongst it :D

Noice, those shots aren't ours they're yours, good stuff DBBB. Happy moon festival from Taiwan. :D
Keep shooting glad you had a surf as well. :D
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

Had a good session too. Most of the crowd was at the north end, but down at the south end where it was a bit smaller (last three shots), we managed to find a peak to ourselves (well, almost) and had some fun 8)

As the clocks go forward this weekend, I'll try and get there a bit earlier next time for a sunrise backdrop, rather than full australian dazzle
