Hi guys new here, my local break offers up awesome rides. Not uncommon to get a mile plus rides!
When conditions are firing up its amazing, one local nailed a 9.2 mile ride!
Imagine over hour on your board on one wave!
And you can put ya surfing days on the calendar a year in advance!
Check out http://www.thesevernbore.co.uk

You got to try river bore riding!

This is where I usually surf. It's the only photo of me surfing that I know of and is from a couple years ago when I was still surfing the three fin longboard. I am kicking out of a wave

I reckon the longboard would be the deal in this, the volume would be the most helpful. I'd also take out the sidebites if I had to surf this! A thruster configuration would be bogging down all over the place and not producing enough line to generate speed, so quading on good volume could be a better deal.
Hope you get shot ( surfing) a few more times so we can witness your progress.

This is the beach a mile from my house where I surf regardless of whatever the surf is doing. Once in a while it is huge and sometimes tubing and there are reefs on each side of this beach making a pretty decent left that breaks in 4 different places the furthest out being about 0.75 miles out and on the other side a right that break usually about 0.5 miles out and once in a while much closer in too. The left reef I surf quite often it has an inside break that I rarely go to anymore because my last ride there broke the nose off my board. The middle break is often fun but the outside is the best but a little scary due to multiple wave poundings if you get caught in the wrong place. But on good days there is a reef boil that tells you approximately where you should be lining up so it is easier to stay lined up. However I surf the middle of the beach break which is all sand most of the time. Unfortunately no one wants to take my picture :)
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

I saw your last sentence .....sad! Waterproof selfies! wife, partner, children, surely someone close would like a picture of you having fun building another story.
A really rewarding way to get pictures of yourself is to treat yourself to a surf resort vacation. They often have a resident photographer and often someone that does video, lay out some $$$$s and bingo, a genuine assessment of your place in the foodchain, bragging rights or lefts, and if they are good a blowup reminder of a great wave.
A bonus for us we can see you next story

well I begged my wife for 2 weeks to take a photo of me surfing and so you see the only existing photo of me surfing. I am busy and can only surf for 30 minutes 2 days a week and no time to go anywhere I haven't had a vacation in 20 years and can't have one at this point. Would be good to have a photo of some of these waves but I can't shoot them myself although I suppose if I had a gopro mounted on my board maybe but I have a feeling it would only get in my way and I would end up losing it. But I still have a bunch more stories and maybe some more in the making. I am sure one of these days I will get tubed again
