Surfing in the Maldives

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has surfed the Maldives in January. I know it’s the off-season but have heard there can be small, fun waves.

The main reasons January is the off season, is dependence of Indian Ocean swells which are there but less so in January and the prevailing monsoon, the winds. They play havoc but it may have slight widows of coincidence where small swell and low winds happen!
Another thing is most breaks are very swell,direction dependent.
One thing that clues. You up,in regard to,swell activity is when the charter boats take a service break so,you will be limited to,a resort, choose well.
