Rincon, Puerto Rico

Postby Monkey4450 » Tue Nov 08, 2016 9:13 am

Hi

Going to Rincon in late january. I'm still a pretty bad surfer, but can ride green waves and working on turns. Anyone been to Rincon ? Could you offer some guidance on what waves will suit me the best? So far I figure Playa Maria and Domes might work.

January is big swell season there. Good chance you will have waves but there's a good chance it might be over your skill level. There are a lot of places you can find shelter from the swell.

Maria's and domes get pretty crowded but are fun waves. Both break over shallow reef and rock. Lots of urchins everywhere in PR. I think there's some surf guides around there that can put you on waves relative to skill level, etc. if interested I can try to find one a friend used and pm his contact.
