Intro to forum and trip to Oahu

Hi ... I'm new to the site so a formal intro is in order. I'm here and I surf.

I'm headed to NS Oahu in a couple of weeks and wanted to respectfully get some info (what NOT to do?). I'm a cold water surfer from NY and just looking forward to some nice water temps and sun. Will be there with Family so not sure how many sessions I'll get. Not looking for anything crazy or above my ability (like double OH pipe). I'm hoping that being the end of winter that there's still some swell for like HH to couple ft. overhead. What I'm really hoping for is if anyone on this site knows a good guide. I'm the only surfer in my party and was hoping to surf with someone (pref. local) that can show me where to go and provide info. Will pay. I always give respect and don't want to get hassled by the locals. Also need a good place to rent/buy a board. ... any suggestions ?
