Central America 6000 mile boat trip

Postby jcb47769 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 12:52 pm

Hi surfers, I'm a sailor/boat captain making a 6000 mile sailboat voyage from San Diego to New England via the Panama Canal this winter. I'm an average surfer at best, mainly surfed longboards for fun in FL, HI, and CA, but I think this could be an epic chance to change that. I know it's a huge area to cover, but can anyone recommend some of the best spots to stop along the way? I have about 6 months to cruise, and I am on my own schedule, can stop anywhere along the way in Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, etc. Also, the boat sleeps 5 comfortably, more if we pack in tight, so I have room for a few more if people want to pitch in for fuel/food/immigrations/etc. I've run dive/sailing charters most of my life, and I don't want this to be a charter (I'm not trying to make money, I'm not at work), but if I had some relaxed, fun people to share this, and a little more budget, I could stop more places and have more fun. Here's the route:Image Email me at surfing@bettermarineservices.com if you're interested coming along, or post here if you have some recommendations on where to go.
