uncrowded surf spot with surf hire and parking in Cornwall?

Postby Duke Blackfist » Mon Aug 16, 2004 1:14 am

Hi everyone. Me and my girlfriend are heading to Cornwall for the august bank holiday weekend. I figured seeing as it's a long weekend, all the popular spots are going to be packed, which we'd like to avoid if possible. We'd probably head to Watergate Bay otherwise, where the dude that runs the carpark out of the shack also does very reasonable surf hire.

As neither of us own a board (yet), we need somewhere that will have boards and wetsuits to hire.

Also, I've been surfing a rew times now, always hiring a foamie, and can fairly consistently pop-up and ride broken waves. Should I consider hiring a popout mini-mal this time, if only so I get hurt more when it hits me? :-p

its all up to you, if you feel your ready and want the manuverablity of a pop out mini mal then sure get it. but you lose stabliblity so you wont pop up as easy. i would suggest riding a breaking wave before renting one. but if you want it, get it. it may hurt a little but it would be fun. oh btw it doesnt hurt all that bad when it does hit you.

thanks namino, I guess I'll stick with the foamie for a while longer.

What about recommending some nice uncrowded spots? Anyone?
