Fins for the Rusty SD

Postby Bearx2 » Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:42 pm

I'm looking at picking up a futures Rusty SD as a new daily driver, what fins do you recommend putting on the thing, I'm looking for a fin that have good hold and traction, but any other recommendations that are better suited for the SD are also fine.

Two quick links:

Short answer without knowing your weight, ability, wave types and wave size, how you like to surf….fast answer is bigger and stiffer the fin and the longer the depth, the more hold and traction you’ll get. Futures makes a fin called the Pancho Sullivan, available in large and even XL and thats about as much hold as you can get.

How about using the same fins you were using before ? ( if they were Futures fins ) Then you can feel the difference in the two boards. Just like when they do sports car comparisons or sports bike comparisons, they mount the exact same tires, so the base line in traction is the same.
