Volume is the "new" thing, which most "old timers", who rode boards before computer aided designs came about, don't care about to much. You have to look more at the total package ( rail, rocker, bottom contours, etc. ) If you do need to know, there are many Volume Calculators from most surfboard makers ( Channel Islands and Lost are quite popular volume calculators ) But be honest about your fitness and skill level when entering your info.
You still won't explain the "other" things you want to do with a shortboard. Airs ? Floater ? Tube rides? I don't see why you can't do that on your current board. I am nearly your size 5'2" 125lbs and use a 6'4" Fish built very similar to the Torq you have.
You're trying to find the right surfboard. But think about it like trying to find the right guy. Why look for "the One", when you got a perfectly good man already at home.
