surfboard cost price?

Postby kingfisherpoos » Sun Apr 19, 2015 1:52 pm

Hi there,
I have been offered two options for board sponsors.

The one will be $165 dollars for each board and the other has only told me they will charge "coSt price" for each board. I have been trying to contact them to find out exactly how much that is, but haVe not been able to reach them. This is a problem because I need to make a decision very soon.

Can anyone tell me roughly how much coSt price is? The guy is quite a well known shaper so he will obviously already have the machinery, etc.

It's hard to say, because prices vary from place to place, from the board material or its material quality, and in the end I doubt he would give you the papers with the prices he paid, so it would be more of a trust deal.

Here in my country, to make a 6'x" epoxy surfboard (no paint job), I think it would cost (currency conversion can make it sound cheap, but it's not really, dollar currency is high these times, and prices might be different there also) about 30 dollars for the foam (EPS from paperstore, not premolded), around 20 dollars for epoxy resin (not all would be used) and I would say 30 dollars on fiberglass cloth. Consider I'm not putting stringer or fins on the sum.

But again, I had to change the currency from here to dollars, prices may be different there, and it can get more expensive. Maybe you should wait for someone from your country to give you a better idea of cost.

Good to see you are still posting Kingfisherpoo! The prices you have quoted are pretty good , but see if you can follow up,with the cost price boards, could give a comparison. Go round to the surf shop see how you go!
Prices are so different in each country so a little hard to help!
You must be surfing pretty well if that sort of partial sponsorship is on offer! Keep up the stoke! :D
