just got back on a board for the first time in 5plus years. Unplanned pregnancy and 3 years of bringing a child back from near death. The ecstacy and unconditional love that is surfing reminded me that everything in life has a time and place. I have reached this pinnacle in life of being smarter, wiser but thank god I can still relate to being a free spirit and cherish the sea and all its mysteries. Thanks for the forum!

Whats up everyone? Name's Sean and I currently live in Virginia Beach, Virginia (USA); but was raised out west and learned to surf in Santa Cruise and Sea Cliffs area and have been surfing for about 23+ years off and on. Currently riding a 6'7 short board and a 8'2 semi-long board in the small swells I get here. At the beach everyday surfing before or after work or teaching my daughters and wife how to surf. Look's like a great forum and community here so thanks for letting me chat!

Hi guys, just thought I would introduce myself as I'm new to the forum as well as surfing!

I'm an outdoors person, but am yet to try my hand at anything watersports related. I'll hopefully be having my first surfing lesson this weekend and I'm getting pretty excited about it! No doubt I will be knackered as I've not long recovered from a pretty bad sporting accident (My recovery included sitting on the sofa eating chocolate, so have put on a few pounds!)

I'm based in the North of Scotland, so would be keen to hear from any fellow Scots. Luckily I live 2mins from the beach, and we have 8 beaches within a 10minute drive from my front door. All very different, with different conditions, and our beaches are pretty quiet which I guess can be a bonus.

I don't really have any questions yet, as I'm being a good newbie and hoovering up all the info in the FAQs and doing some forum searches. Look forward to chatting to you guys, and feel free to shout any words of wisdom over before my first lesson!
