Hello Everyone!

Hey guys/gals,

I've been bodyboarding/surfing since 1992. I always had a love for the ocean. These days, I have a family, so I usually just try to get a session in when its worth going. Given that I live on the east coast, my version of good conditions probably vary drastically from some of yours.
So given this way of life, I wanted a way to best keep track of the conditions here. I built an android app, which pulls in data from Magicseaweed, and will alert me when certain criteria are met.
What i'm hoping to do is get a better grasp on the data from any surf forcasts I see, so I can understand what makes a good wave.
Do any of you know of some sites I can visit that explains the swell data, and how they all work together to make a good wave? I would like to get as technical as possible with this, trying to correlate what I see in Magicseaweed and the data to see if their Star's rating works well for my area, and which criteria make it worth it to go out.
Appreciate any info that might help!
Thanks,

Joe

Go to your local shop and speak to the people there. They will tell you which website is accurate and what tide, swell, wind etc would be the best. Every break is different and some websites can be totally off.
